When should you clean your jewelry? There are no hard and fast rules on this. Generally speaking, the more you wear it, the more you need to clean it. Clean your jewelry every few months or when it looks dull.

Check the jewelry. Observe if it has any gems set in it. If so, you need to pay attention to the amount of cleaning solution used when cleaning the area around the gemstone. Cleaning fluid may get under the stone, loosening the glue, and the stone may fall off later. Also, too much water can damage the foil that makes artificial gemstones shiny.

Tips for Alloy Products:

  1. Avoid products with chemical additives. Do not spray perfume after wearing the jewelry. Yes, it’s because if it comes into contact, it will actually speed up the oxidation. In addition to perfume, even sunscreen, cosmetics, setting sprays, detergents, chlorine in swimming pools, etc., these products have chemical additives, and it is not recommended to touch jewelry directly. So what if you really need to wear sunscreen or spray perfume? It is recommended to put on sunscreen, spray perfume, etc. before wearing jewelry.
  2. Take off jewelry when taking a shower or doing exercise. Jewelry is afraid of moisture. You should avoid wearing jewelry whether in the bathroom steam room, beach or hot spring. The salt in seawater will corrode jewelry and accelerate oxidation, while hot springs contain sulfur, which will cause a sulfurization reaction and cause discoloration of jewelry. In unavoidable circumstances, such as rain or hand washing, the jewelry can be wiped dry, kept dry or temporarily removed. Sweat is the natural enemy of jewelry because it is acidic. Therefore, it is necessary to try to avoid wearing it while sweating. If it is stained with sweat, it is also recommended to temporarily remove it and dry it as soon as possible to keep it dry and stored.
  3. After each wear, wipe it with a dry cloth before storing it. After wearing it for a day, the surface of the jewelry will be stained with grease or sweat. As mentioned before, jewelry is afraid of moisture, so before storing it, it is recommended to use a dry cloth to wipe off all sweat, moisture, and grease on the jewelry before storing it.
  4. Do not store accessories where they are exposed to air. If the alloy jewelry is exposed to the air, such as hanging on a jewelry rack, and then the jewelry rack is placed on the table or in a wardrobe that often needs to be opened and closed, the oxidation rate will be relatively faster. Therefore, the storage method must be in a closed space, for example: zipper bags, or storage boxes. In addition to avoiding oxidation, it can also reduce friction with other jewelry, causing damage to the coating and leaving scratches. So, it will look clean, like new, and last longer.
  5. Remember not to use silver wiping cloth to wipe alloy jewelry. If you use the cloth specially used to wipe sterling silver jewelry to wipe alloy jewelry, it will be self-defeating. The fixing film on the alloy jewelry will be completely polished off.

Tips for Silver Products:

  1. Silver jewelry can be worn every day. Skin oils can give the silver a natural and warm luster.
  2. Clean regularly. For example, use a professional jewelry cleaner, silver jewelry can be wiped lightly with a silver polishing cloth.
  3. Polish regularly. If scratches appear or the platinum surface is oxidized, regular polishing can restore it to like new.
  4. It is still recommended to take off your silver jewelry before bathing, shower or in any humid environment. Do not wear it in hot spring or thermal bath.

It is necessary to store the jewelry separately (especially pearl jewelry whose surface is easily scratched). Of course, this also makes it easier for you to find.
